So if you haven't watched any of True Detective then get off your ass and go watch it cause it's freaking brilliant. I'm not even into cop-drama shows, in fact I normally hate that stuff and your cop-show has to basically be amazing to get me to watch it cause I think real life is filled with enough crime that I sure as balls don't want to watch it in my down time - but the characters of True Detective are so engaging, so strong, that I had to watch it.
The good news is that if you haven't seen the first season you can watch the second season as it's an anthology series and season one is not related to season two.
Joining Vince Vaughn and Colin Farrel for seasons two are Rachel McAdams, Taylor Kitsch and Kelly Reilly.
I have to say that the happiest part of that for me is Taylor Kitsch returning to the small screen as I freaking LOVE his last show 'Friday Night Lights'. Part of me does wonder if he'll be wearing a cowboy hat in this too as that appears to be his schtick?
TheBlemish.com had this to say:
Adams will play Ventura County Sheriff Ani Bezzerides, a detective whose uncompromising ethics put her at odds with others and the system she serves.
Colin Farrell will play Ray Velcoro, a compromised detective whose allegiances are torn between his masters in a corrupt police department and the mobster who owns him.
Kitsch will play Paul Woodrugh, a war veteran and motorcycle officer for the California Highway Patrol, running from a difficult past and the sudden glare of a scandal that never happened.
Kelly Reilly will play Jordan, Frank Semyon’s wife, a former D-list actress who is a full partner in his enterprises and ambitions.
Vince Vaughn will play Frank Semyon, a criminal and entrepreneur in danger of losing his empire when his move into legitimate enterprise is upended by the murder of a business partner.
The first couple of episodes will be directed by Justin Lin. Who’ll direct the other episodes remains unclear as execs will have to revisit the budget after they nail down Vince Vaughn’s donut budget.
