Oh yeah *cough* Bruce Campbell is reprising the role of Ash.
*Stands on his desk and freaking dances*
FUN FACT:In a Nightmare on Elm Street the movie that Nancy watches to try to stay awake is The Evil Dead by director Sam Raimi.
Craven added the nod to Raimi because Raimi had previously included a poster of Craven’s second film, The Hills Have Eyes, in a scene in The Evil Dead. Raimi eventually returned the favor by hiding Freddy’s knife glove in a scene in a toolshed in Evil Dead II.
The people behind the pilot had this to say:
“Bruce Campbell will be reprising his role as Ash, the stock boy, aging lothario and chainsaw-handed monster hunter who has spent the last 30 years avoiding responsibility, maturity and the terrors of the Evil Dead. When a Deadite plague threatens to destroy all of mankind, Ash is finally forced to face his demons –personal and literal. Destiny, it turns out, has no plans to release the unlikely hero from its ‘Evil’ grip.”
